L-citrulline dietary supplement. GLUTEN FREE.
L-citrulline is a non-essential amino acid naturally found in our body, especially in the kidneys and in the liver. Like other amino acids (i.e. L-glutamine, L-arginine) it participates in detoxification processes and it favors the disposal of ammonia. Furthermore, L-citrulline participates to the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO), a vasodilator gas that our body produces. Indeed, L-citrulline can be converted into L-arginine and then into nitric oxide.
Increasing the production of Nitric Oxide means increasing the blood flow, consequently improving the transport of nutrients and oxygen to the cells of the whole body, skeletal muscles included.
Several studies have shown that intake of L-citrulline improves sports performance.
